Tragedy mixed with Triumph

Today is my birthday. Ugh you say. I know I get it all the time. You know how many times you are asked your birth date? My response, 9/11 the looks I get are interesting. My first reaction is that this date was my birthday for some 28 years before some horrible people ruined the image of that day in America's hearts and ruined my birthday! My next feeling is a disheartening one. I remember the day of my birthday 6 years ago and a coworker said, "how will you ever be able to celebrate your birthday on this horrible day?" Well that year there was no celebration. But as subsequent years have rolled around life seems to go on. This is still the day that my parents welcomed me into the world some 34 years ago now. There is celebration in life! I know for many many people life has not gone on. My heart truly goes out to them. But then to those evil people that tried to ruin America's spirit that day, along with my birthday celebration, I say you can't win!! We won't let you strip us of our belief in God, Freedom to live and act as one wishes or our happiness. I hope that on this day of remembrance, sadness and yes my birthday that we can all resolve to hold our heads a little higher, speak a little kinder and reach a hand to those fellow Americans that may need a special boost on this day and unite to fight those evil people that are full of hatred while remembering and cherishing those lives that were taken so prematurely that day 6 years ago on my 28th birthday. I am so grateful for each day I have been blessed with!

My Baby Turned 2!

My Charlee Belle had her 2nd Birthday two days ago, on Aug 23. She had quite the time and was oh so entertaining watching. Of all my kids she is our most animated. TOTAL GIRL! She ripped open one of her packages before the party, well she saw "CLOTHES" She spent the whole time going around to everyone, "my clothes, new clothes, my clothes" It was so fun. Then when she opened gifts, she picked that gift first, and of course squealed in delight and then had to put them on! ON top of her present clothes and the pants on backwards and all. It was too fun. One of those moments that we are going to love to watch over and over through out the years! I can just see her hiding when she's 16 :) It was great, then her dad rolled in his gift. Its kind of his tradition that he gives the kids their first bicycle on their 2nd birthday. It's funny how the kids are different. Chase our second son was riding that bike just days after his 2nd birthday, Charlee well it'll be a long while before she can ride. It's a tiny bike but she's such a peanut her little legs barely reach the pedals and she stands next to the bike and its as tall as her! It was kind of funny, she's always been petite and is just now starting to wear 18 mos size clothes and she was given a bike! I had to laugh; But oh she was in heaven, for the rest of the night she sat on the bike with her new clothes(several new sets~Thanks Grandma's and Grandpa's!) laid out on the handle bars. Such sweet memories!! Happy Birthday Baby Doll!
